Realme GT 8 Pro is having some identity issues – is it a flagship or a flagship killer? Its €1,100 price tag says the former, its hardware says the latter. And so, the conclusion of last week’s survey is very simple – the GT8 Pro needs a price cut.

The phone’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and large 7,000mAh battery definitely impressed us in our review. And the 6.79″ OLED display is a sharp, high-quality 1440p + 144Hz panel with Dolby Vision. But it’s not an LTPO panel. Also, the USB-C port is only USB 2.0. Video stabilization could have been better. The same goes for the ultra-wide and selfie cameras.

These are things that could easily be overlooked if the GT8 Pro were priced like a flagship killer, but that’s not the case – it starts at €1,100 for the 12/256GB model and the 16/512GB option is €1,200. You can already find offers for less than €100, but it’s still an expensive phone.

And many people in the poll are saying the same thing – the Realme GT 8 Pro needs a price cut (by more than €100). Some people like the phone just the way it is, especially when competing models like the OnePlus 15 have their own hardware shortcomings. But many are considering competing brands.

The good news is that few people are having issues with the phone’s hardware or software – and the price will drop over time.
